Alyson Michalka was born to Mark Michalka and Carrie Belley Michalka. Her sibling Amanda Joy Michalka was born on April10, 1991. She has 2 dogs named Saint and Bandit. Bandit belongs to Alyson and Saint belongs to Amanda. She lived and grew up in Seattle, Washington. She went to Mack Elementary School and now she is home-schooled. When Alyson was 10, they all shifted to Los Angles & now they currently resides there only.

Alyson Michalka’s father owns a company. Her mother used to sing in church band which made her to choose her career as singing. Alyson is 2 yrs older than Amanda. She started acting when she was only 5 yrs old in church productions. Alyson started her acting career as a professional print model at the age of 11.

Alyson Michalka breakout role was ‘Keely Teslow’ in the ‘Disney Channel Original Series’. The name of her debut serial was ‘Phil of the Future’. Alyson’s debut film was ‘Now you see it’. Alyson and her sister comprise the musical duo Aly and AJ, and released their first album, Into the Rush, in August 2005. The two have a new Christmas album, titled Acoustic Hearts of Winter, released on September 26, 2006.

Alyson Michalka is fond of playing piano since she was 6 and she started playing guitar at the age of 13. When she isn’t acting, she enjoys drawing, writing, reading, riding horses, playing with her dogs & spending time with her parents. Alyson is interested in fashion and sewing, and has plans to design a clothing line. She loves to wear bright colors & garish accessories.

Alyson is studying Christianity. Her artistic talent was recognized by Hallmark Cards. She won a contest for a Christmas card in 1999, when she was in the fourth grade. The first single may be a classic cover, but the sisters have written all of the songs on their CD. And though they may be young teens, when it comes to writing songs, they aim high. "Simple entertainment is shallow". Alyson doesn't have her room covered in teen posters...she likes to have a mature looking room.

Alyson’s first music album was released on February 15th. The name of her album was “Do You Believe In Magic”. The sisters are currently working in the recording studio with award-winning music producers Ray and Greg Cham (Disney Channel Original Movies "The Cheetah Girls," "Full Court Miracle").
